Adulting is already hard, but having anxiety while you need to stay productive with your work and life makes it even harder. Here are five small steps you can take to stay productive when you struggle with anxiety.

We all know adulting is tough. The constant responsibilities and expectations to find and keep a solid job, eat right, stay healthy, manage your money, and somehow balance a social life and your sanity seem almost impossible at times. This is all even more challenging when you struggle with anxiety. You often find your mind racing a million miles an hour trying to figure out how to manage all of your responsibilities and your life in general. There’s even a small voice in the back of your head whispering, “You can’t do this, there’s no way. Why are you even trying?” I’ve been in yourRead More →

Learn about my experience with anxiety, and how I took control of my anxiety and mental health with the combination of seeing a therapist and a strong group of loved ones in my life.

I decided to share my own experience and story about my journey with anxiety. A little over a year ago I was experiencing the worst crippling anxiety I had ever dealt with, but thankfully I had amazing loved ones and found a great therapist to help me through one of the toughest times of my life. There’s still a stigma surrounding anxiety and other mental health issues. I wanted to share my story to help get rid of that stigma, as well as help anyone feel not alone if they’re experiencing anything similar. Sometimes you don’t realize how common mental illness is until you findRead More →

What's the difference between self-care and laziness? There's a fine line between taking a mental health break, and simply being lazy. I break down the differences between the two so you can help recognize your patterns and see if there's anything you need to change in your self-care routine!

The other day I received an Instagram message from a follower who was still learning about self-care and what works best for her. She mentioned that she sometimes finds herself using “self-care” as an excuse, instead of an act of self-love. I could definitely relate to her experience. I’m not perfect. Even though I’ve had a longer experience practicing self-care, I unfortunately still occasionally find myself using self-care as an excuse to be lazy. For example, sometimes I find myself binge-watching a new show instead of working on my blog. Even though I know I had the energy and time to work on my priorities,Read More →

I don’t know about you, but I have terrible habit of multi-tasking. You’re probably thinking, “Multi-tasking is a bad thing? You’re getting more done at once, right?” Unless you’re fantastic about following through with EVERYTHING you’re doing while multi-tasking, odds are it’s taking you longer to actually finish any projects or tasks you start. Your focus and energy is spread too thin when you’re working on simultaneous activities. Imagine the overall amount of progress you make when you’re focusing on three or four tasks at a time. You aren’t actually moving forward on those projects compared to focusing on one at a time. For example,Read More →

Self-Care needs to be a top priority in your life. Here's why! (Plus a FREE simple guide to daily self-care!)

A little over a year ago, self-care was not on my radar. I was tackling life head-first, exploring full-time career options, enjoying a newer relationship, and experiencing post-college life. It was an interesting phase for me; I had just finished an internship and didn’t have any specific goals for my next step. Overall I was enjoying the freedom, but my inner overachiever was screaming for more. Throughout the summer, I spent countless hours applying for jobs, prepping for interviews, investing time in friendships and my relationship, and working nearly full-time hours every week at my current job. Also, can’t forget the regular day-to-day errands andRead More →

Adulting is hard. Anxiety makes it harder. It almost feels like no matter how many obstacles you conquer, another mountain immediately arrives. Your to-do list feels endless. However, you know you can’t back down if you want to accomplish your goals. Completing this never-ending list of adult tasks isn’t easy.  When I was first experiencing adulting anxiety in full swing after college, the strategy I was using to completing my goals wasn’t working. I needed to find a solution to conquering the anxiety and stress. I developed a few habits that were extremely effective. Of course, these tactics don’t completely alleviate stress and anxiety forever, but they certainly help keep my emotionsRead More →

I’m so thankful to have found a wonderful, caring (and affordable) counselor that’s helped me through challenging moments this year. While I do feel like I’m making progress, I know I’m going to have to keep working onRead More →
