I decided to share my own experience and story about my journey with anxiety. A little over a year ago I was experiencing the worst crippling anxiety I had ever dealt with, but thankfully I had amazing loved ones and found a great therapist to help me through one of the toughest times of my life.
There’s still a stigma surrounding anxiety and other mental health issues. I wanted to share my story to help get rid of that stigma, as well as help anyone feel not alone if they’re experiencing anything similar.
Sometimes you don’t realize how common mental illness is until you find yourself a part of the community. Figuring out that I wasn’t alone was something that truly helped me through what I was experiencing.
Today I’m thrilled to say that anxiety no longer controls my life. I can’t remember the last time I had a panic attack, and if I feel any anxiety approaching, I know what steps to take in order to move forward. Of course, anxiety never 100% goes away, but you can find ways to handle it and take steps towards gaining more stability in your life, instead of letting anxiety take control of yours.
